Jody Seay

Oregon Book Award finalist
Jody Seay

Transplanted Texan, Jody Seay, has been living and writing in Oregon since 1988. Her first book, The Second Coming of Curly Red, won First Prize for Fiction at the Mendocino Coast Writer’s Conference and then became a Finalist in the Oregon Book Awards. Earlier, her essays appeared in Susan McElroy’s NY Times best sellers, Animals as Teachers & Healers and Animals as Guides for the Soul.  In 2012, Portland’s BroadArts Theatre produced Jody’s lesbian cowgirl musical, Bunkin’ With You in the Afterlife. Jody’s most recent book, a screamingly funny memoir called Dead in a Ditch, is about a childhood full of double-dog dares. If Jody Seay’s face seems familiar, it’s because she hosted the Oregon TV show about writers, BACK PAGE, for ten years.
