Ruth Tenzer Feldman

Oregon Book Award

Ruth has wandered away from two decades writing ten nonfiction books and scores of articles on history and science into the murky and mesmerizing world of historical fiction/fantasy.  Blue Thread, which entwines a Portland suffragist and a biblical character across millennia, won the Oregon Book Award for young adult literature. A companion novel, The Ninth Day, weaves together the Berkeley’s 1964 Free Speech Movement and 11th Century Paris. Ruth is working on “Book Three,” which pairs 16th Century Istanbul with Portland in 2059.
