Susan Hill Long

Susan Hill Long’s fiction has appeared in Hunger Mountain, and her books for beginning readers have been published by Macmillan and HarperCollins. Her middle grade novel Whistle in the Dark (Holiday House, September 2013), was named a Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year and a Bank Street Best Book, was a finalist for the Oregon Spirit Award and the winner of the 2015 Eloise Jarvis McGraw Award (Oregon Book Awards). She is also a recipient of the Katherine Paterson Prize. Her next novel for young readers, The Magic Mirror, will be published by Knopf in 2016. She lives in Portland with her husband and two daughters.
